- I have practiced law in Florida since 1985. My interest in Long-Term Care is very personal. My father, who is also a lawyer, unfortunately developed medical problems that rendered him disabled and in need of Long-Term Care. Fortunately, he had the foresight to purchase Long-Term Care Insurance. However, at his greatest time of need, the insurance company denied his claim. I sued his insurance company. We won. During the process,I realized that despite the many protections against abusive insurance practices, insurance companies were taking serious advantage of elderly, and infirmed people.
